Ramaad Environmental project is aimed at reviving and restoring the forestation of indigenous tree species in Jubaland state and other parts of Somalia.

This project is on-going and is sponsored by the Government of Finland under the supervision of Finnish-Somali Network. The increasing aridity of the Somali climate, coupled with excessive timber cutting and overgrazing, has led to deforestation and extension of the desert area.Somalia has 6 cubic kilometres of renewable water resources with 97% used for farming.
