Ganaane, in partnership with Trocaire is implementing SOM156 Promoting Sustainable Agriculture Project (PSA). The project’s expected outcome is to achieve improved food/ income availability through adaption of sustainable agricultural practises among target farmers. To contribute to realization of this outcome, the project will employ the bellow outputs;

  • Farmers sensitized on the importance of agroforestry
  • Appropriate tree seeds/seedlings distributed to target farmers and planted by the farmers.
  • Drought tolerant crop variety seeds distributed to target farmers.
  • Target farmers trained on Good Agroecological Practices (GAP) and how to make compost manure (organic fertilizer).

Under this project Ganaane will support a total of 90 (56F: 34M) direct beneficiaries from Tuula-Amin location of Balad-hawa. 25 of the beneficiaries are IDPs while 65 are members of host community. The project will support the farmers for period of seven months from 15th July 2024 to 28 February 2025. Since some of the target farmers are IDPs and do not have access to land, the project will negotiate for their access to land with local landowners. The project will impart agroecological skills and promote adaption of sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices, will provide inputs such seeds and fuel and will provide land preparation support to the farmers.   [MM1]

  • Duration of support/project
  •  Specific deliverables
